Lou Barlow @ Headliners – 10/16

I hadn’t realized this before, but the incredibly influential Lou Barlow is coming to Louisville’s Headliner’s Music Hall on October 16th alongside his once former, now current band Dinosaur Jr.  Bands opening as a solo act leading up to the full band performance are starting to become the thing to do, it seems, as  the Old 97s are doing it as well.  It looks like October is turning out to be a very busy month.  Barlow was a founding member of several of the more important lo-fi rock bands that have paved the way for acts like Wavves, Blank Dogs,  & countless others, namely Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh and The Folk Implosion who you’ll remember from “Natural One“.

In addition to staying active with Dinosaur Jr., Barlow is releasing another solo album on Merge Recordscalled Goodnight Unknown, (out October 6).
