Impact Dance Project @ the Clifton Center – 7/17

IMPACT DANCE PROJECT ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL LOUISVILLE PERFORMANCE

Louisville, KY – July 2, 2009 – Impact Dance Project will be making their debut at The Eifler Theatre at the Clifton Center on Friday, July 17th with performances running through the next evening Saturday, July 18th.  Impact Dance Project will feature choreographers and dancers from Louisville, most of which many will be familiar with their work as members of Louisville Ballet. Director Morgan Hulen, also a member of Louisville Ballet, created Impact Dance Project based on the concept of creating accessible art performances that are resonate with the audience, by being both localized artistically and having impact economically further strengthening art as commerce within the community.

Audiences will witness Impact Dance Project merging color, light, movement and music through the featured works created by Hulen as well as Louisville Ballet dancer/choreographer Mikelle Bruzina, Pete Lay, Ben Needham-Wood, and Amanda Diehl. What might be a first for the Louisville dance community is the audience will be able to determine the ending of Hulen’s work by voting on various outcomes once the first half is performed prior to intermission.  During the intermission, the audience will vote on their preferred ending and the winning scenario will be performed at the opening of the 2nd half of the evening.

Tickets for the July 17th and 18th performances are $15 for general admission with a premier ticket available for $25 which will include an invitation to a Browning’s beer tasting prior to the show, a reserved seat for the evening, and an invitation to a Meet and Greet with dancers and choreographers after the performance.
