Wale @ Old Tarr Distillery – 4/23

Matt over at YANP turned us on to some very exciting news, namely that the slightly insane Wale, who virtually nobody outside of DC had heard of until Pitchfork named it #36 of it’s top 50 albums of 2008, will be coming to Lexington’s Old Tarr Distillery on April 23rd.  Wale’s debut “The Mixtape About Nothing” took it’s inspiration from the show about nothing, Seinfeld, and what’s more, contained equal parts absurdity and genius. The tour is in support of his upcoming album “Attention Deficit” which features such poor taste in side-artists as Lady Gaga (but it’ll be sure to sell the records) & should be good despite the awkward twangy pop diva. As Matt points out however, this show is going to conflict with the Of Montreal show in Covington, so one way or another, everybody ought to be dvr-ing their shows for the night, because there is no reason to be home watching them, and if you don’t have dvr, I bet you at least have an iTunes account or access to hulu.
