Bands that we’ve brought to to who are now playing in commercials.

So it seems that somebody is watching and having those artists that Backseat Sandbar decides to help put together shows for in Louisville go on to do national advertising campaign commercials.  First, it was Thao with the Get Down Stay Down, who came to town back in July, giving up “Bag of Hammers” for Chlorox disinfectant wipes, and now it’s Starfucker, who came to town back in October who has now scored an IBM commercial with “Holly” (notably, I’m writing this from my MacBook).  In fact, you’d be surprised at the number of indie artists appearing in national advertising campaigns.  Check out splendAd to open your eyes to just a fraction of those commercials.

  1. That’s only the half of it, there’s been a surge of indie artists in television shows as well. Also, did you see the Lincoln commercial with the unreleased Cat Power cover of Space Oddity?
