Ben Lee w/ Chemic @ Bellarmine U – 1/30- Canceled (Again)

ANOTHER SHOW BITES THE SNOW AFTER THIS CRAZY STORM.  NO WORD YET IF IT WILL BE RESCHEDULED.  FROM WHAT I HEAR, MOST PEOPLE WON’T EVEN SEE THIS POST SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE WITHOUT POWER.  GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE GETTING THROUGH THIS.

UPDATE:  This show is BACK ON!

Update 2: Nevermind.

The folks over at Bellarmine University have a special performance lined up for January 30th with the internationally acclaimed musician Ben Lee! Ben is a brilliant songrwriter from Australia who has spent some time collaborating with Ben Folds and Ben Kweller in The Bens, acting in indie movies (The Rage in Placid Lake), fronting the great indie-punk band Noise Addict (Ecstatic Peace/Grand Royal Records), and putting out his own records since he was 16. It is rare to find Lee playing solo shows in the states and this tour to tout his new album The Rebirth of Venus has only 3 stops in the US, with the other two being in Los Angeles. Ben will be playing a special set by himself and this will be a show that you definitely will not want to miss.

Also at the show will be a special performance by the Louisville band Chemic. Chemic is taking time out of recording a follow up record to their debut album Fever On The Forest Floor (Crossroads of America Records). The past year or so has seen them sharing the stage with Sun Kil Moon, The Six Parts Seven, Mason Proper, Grampall Jookabox, and PWRFL Power, and they have been featured on CDs with Louisville stalwarts like My Morning Jacket, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Wax Fang, and Dave Pajo. This particular show will be a special appearance for them as they will have some special guests and will be playing a host of new material from their upcoming record.

Tickets for this show are available at Louisville’s Ear X-tacy early this week for $10 and will also be available at Bellarmine University for $5 if you are a student.
