Peter Bjorn & John @ Southgate House – 4/24

Peter Bjorn And John are coming back to the area just over a year after their previous trip through, this time to play at The Historic Southgate House on Friday, April 24 with Brooklynites Chairlift to open the show. We caught PB&J at Headliners back in Nov.’07 and they put on a really fantastic performance with 10x the energy that you would have expected, from Peter climbing the light towers to dueling guitars, it truly made for a great show.  We’re glad to see Peter Morén spending his time with the full band rather than on his solo career.  The band will be out promoting Living Thing, which will be released by Almost Gold Recordings and StarTime International on March 31. You can download “Lay It Down” from Peter Bjorn And John’s website.  We’re streaming “Nothing to Worry About” below, originally brought to the public exclusively via the ever-informative blog of Kanye West.

Supporting PB&J is no laughing matter either, Chairlift will be opening the night.  Chairlift is the latest artist to go from nobody to someone everyone knows with the click of the TV remote for the recent iTunes ad blasting “Bruises”, but iPods aside, Chairlift put out a really strong album worth listening and her name on the bill with PB&J should make for a fun night.
