Phish Announce Tour Stop Outside Indianapolis – 6/19

(art by Erin Cadigan)

Phish announced a Summer tour this morning (with skywriting planes, see video here) and it includes a stop in Noblesville, IN at the Verizon Music Center (outside of Indianapolis) on June 19, 2009 (a Friday).  It is only a two hour trip from Louisville and people watching at these shows is almost as much fun as the show itself.  There are also rumors that they will be playing at Bonnaroo.  Could be interesting!  More details below…

“Phish will perform ten concerts this coming June. The shows kick off with a two night stand at Jones Beach in Wantagh, NY June 4-5 and wrap up in Alpine Valley in East Troy, WI on June 20-21. Stops along the way include a return to the Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis on June 16 and the band’s first show at the Asheville Civic Center in Asheville, NC on June 9.” (via Phish.com)

Tickets go on sale to the public beginning Friday, January 30th at 10 am ET

  1. Phish was one of the first big stadium shows I ever saw, after my freshman year of college. I couldn’t figure out why there was no opener listed on the ticket. Then Phish came out and played for nearly 5 hours (briefly backed up by the Del McCoury Band with Ricky Skaggs with Wynonna, who sang Free Bird; you can’t make this stuff up) and it all made sense. Assuming they’ve still got it, they play quite a show.
