Kings of Leon @ The Palace – 1/20/09

Kings of Leon will be playing at The Palace in Louisville, Kentucky on January 20, 2009.  Tickets are $36 bucks and are on-sale now.

About Kings of Leon:
Initially embraced as “the Southern Strokes” for their resurrection and reinvention of Dixie-styled rock & roll, Kings of Leon steadily morphed themselves into an experimental rock outfit during the 2000s. The Tennessee-bred quartet debuted in 2003 with the Holy Roller Novocaine EP, whose blend of raw, unpolished boogie rock was further explored on their debut full-length, Youth & Young Manhood. Such revivalist music was matched by a similarly revivalist appearance — including long hair, mustaches, and tight-fitting denim — and Kings of Leon experienced immediate popularity in the U.K. As the band explored different sonic textures with subsequent releases, most notably on 2007’s Because of the Times and 2008’s Only By the Night, those tenuous links to the Strokes were finally dissolved. -last.fm

  1. 36 bucks! That was about the cost of Arcade Fire wasn’t it?

KOL first two albums were fantastic. I don’t know about these guys anymore. I know its not worth 36 dollars.

  2. I agree , Youth And Young Manhood was awesome and Aha Shake Heartbreak was great to. But know , they’ve like changed a lot with their looks and sound. I have no problems with changing , but they’re still amazing musicians.
