Chinese Democracy really DOES exist?

Stereogum reports that Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy had leaked, making it the soon-to-be-official 6th studio album (and the first since 1993’s The Spaghetti Incident).  Chinese Democracy had become a thing of mythical proportions in the music world, with Axl and Sebastian Bach constantly talking about its existence and more or less how incredible it was going to be.  In fact, Bach described it as having “the rawness and the power of Appetite for Destruction, but it also has the grandiosity of ‘November Rain“.  Fourteen years and reportedly $13M after starting the album, we may finally see it & get a free Dr. Pepper while we’re at it.  Unfortunately, however, Stereogum gave it a spin and had nothing but unkind words to say about it…Considering this is meant to be part 1 of a 3 part collection, if any of us live long enough to see the final 2 parts, it could be a long road literally and figuratively.  Whether Stereogum likes it or not, I for one can’t wait to hear that idiosyncratic Axl voice (though I’ll miss slash’s solo, particularly in the music video)

Of course this all relevant to Louisville based on the who-knows-if-it’s-true-but-let’s-pretend-it-is rumor that one of his greatest songs was about our dear city.  You can keep up with more information on the album at Chinese Democracy When?
