Black Keys @ CityBlock – 10/7

OutbackConcerts.com is bringing Akron, Ohio’s Black Keys to Louisville’s CityBlock on Tuesday, October 7th in support of their fifth album Attack & Release (Pitchfork 7.5).  These guys have a full scale worldwide tour planned from June through November with just a little bit of a break in July.  I saw these guys perform at CD Central a few years ago and they rocked the in-store, so I can only imagine what can happen at a full scale venue.  That said, why are bands playing CityBlock? I don’t get it.  I know size-wise it’s nice, but so many of us just feel uncomfortable for one reason or another rocking to the Black Keys there.  It could be that anything that describes itself as “Louisville’s Hottest Nightclub Complex” isn’t a place that I want to spend a whole lot of time.

I hope the turn out is as large as it should be & I’m sure that where the Black Keys go, most all of us will be willing to follow…

Tickets are going to be around $20-22.50 & should be available June 20th @ 10am (presale available June 18-19).  The show is 18+ & kicks off at 9pm

The Black Keys – Strange Times

The Black Keys – Things Ain’t Like They Used To Be

  1. I don’t like Coyote’s either, but – if we can can get more bands like the Black Keys to come to town, I’ll go. They would probably sell out Headliner’s after all.
