Production Simple Brings Galactic to Headliner’s, 4/15

New Orleans based Galactic is coming to Louisville’s Headliners on April 15th! Way back in 2000, I saw Galactic open for Ben Harper at Red Rocks in Colorado and the show was amazing. They have infused a lot more hip-hop since then, but these guys still know how to bring the funk (and jazz, and rock…). This will be a great chance to show off your dance moves (or just stand there if you can resist). Galactic newest album, From the Corner to the Block, was released in 2007 and has an impressive line-up of guest artists featured. How this will translate to a live show, I have no clue. If you are not familiar with Galactic’s unique sound, check out a few tracks below. Trust me, it will be hard not to become a fan. As of now they are only scheduled to play with a “special guest,” but judging by their Jan-Mar tour dates, this, most likely, will be Chali 2na (of J5) and Boots Riley (of The Coup). Omega Watts and Gift of Gab have also stopped into a show or two (how sick would that be?).
