Local Hip-Hop heads Jamili Brown are going to be playing this year’s Forecastle, on the first hip hop night from 6:10 to 6:40. I saw these guys perform at Tailgater’s back around February & I’ll admit that I was a little skeptical seeing a band at Tailgaters, but when we got there, and these guys got on stage, it was clear these guys knew what they were doing. More than a few kids were there just to see these guys perform. It’s hard to find a local hip hop troupe with an intellect and stage presence that these guys have & watching these 7 perform that night was really entertaining & I cannot wait to see them again at Forecastle. Their album, Dayz of Thunder, could fit alongside any of Dilated Peoples, Jurassic Five, Atmosphere, or any other of the conscious rappers within a few years…
