The only problem with Derby Eve is WHICH concert to go to. The great thing is that with some degree of recognition and planning, you can link up multiple shows throughout the city with ease. For example, you can start with 80s thrash metal Dead Child who is doing an in-store at Ear X-tacy at 7pm. The you can catch the B-52’s at the Waterfront or Goo Goo Dolls at 4th Street Live (depending on whether you want to go late 80s-to-early 90s or mid-to-late 90s). Cut out of there early for Mucca Pazza, Wax Fang, & Parlour at Headliners. Then you can finish the night to the sounds of MisShapes at Fuzion. But that’s just one possibility. We’ve also got Arnett Hollow w/ Zongo (BBC St. Matthews); The Glasspack (The Rud); Good Souls (4th Street Coffee); Foxhole and Interstates (The 930); Velcro Pygmies (PHT). Really, it’s a shame so many good shows are happening all on the same night & that I can’t be in every place at once.
