MMJ Coming to Louisville’s Waterfront Park – 8/16

I was hoping MMJ would come back home while promoting their new album, Evil Urges, out June 10, and my hopes were confirmed today. My Morning Jacket will be in Louisville on August 16th at the Waterfront Park. Production Simple, The Louisville Bats and WFPK are to thank for brining the guys back and I have no doubt it will be a great show. We saw Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem down there and it is just a spectacular place to put on a concert. In the Courier, Jim James said that he wanted to go big and perhaps even ride in on the Belle of Louisville. Whether or not that happens is another story, but at least he is setting his goals high. Tickets go on sale THIS FRIDAY at 10am. You can get them at the Louisville Slugger Field box office and by phone, (502) 361-3100. Tix are $33.50, which includes a $1 donation to a charity to be determined.

  1. The middle of August in Louisville is a not so great time to be outside. It was 105 degrees last year. That said, I’ll probably still pony up the hundred bucks for tickets if it involves steamboat antics.
