These United States are coming to the 930 Art Center on April 4th & to The Dame on April 5th. These guys made Daytrotter’s “Best 15 Albums of 2007” at 13, with their album The Forest and the Garden. They have another one coming out entitled “A Picture of the 3 of us at the Gates of Eden” (March 4th). They play an awe-inspiring kind of psychedlic folk, but inject bits of Andrew Bird, Postal Service and Iron & Wine. It comes off fascinating & I’m really excited for this show. Once again, the 930 Art center is becoming like the Dame for Louisville by getting those just under the radar bands the Dame always gets but that Louisville hasn’t had the venue or the go-getter promoter to bring. Thanks to the guys at the 930 for filling that void.
On April 5th, they’ll be playing at the Dame with the wonderfully talented local boys Scourge of the Sea.
