Tis’ the season to announce 2008 tour dates and Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks put The Southgate House in Newport, KY on their list of stops. Malkmus’ new album, Real Emotional Trash, is set for release on March 4th. The show will be only 19 days later, on March 23rd, and tickets are $15. John Vanderslice is opening. Vanderslice’s newest album, Emerald City, released in mid-2007 to mixed reviews. Regardless, I’m a fan and will be sure to catch both sets. March is turning out to be quite the month for music in KY.
